If you haven't realized, I posted a picture of me and my immediate family members (minus twp brothers & including one niece). Imani (Baby), Mom (Left) Bro Ronnie (Back), Sister Mary (Front Middle) and myself (right). Family is a very important thing to me. From birth to present, the importance of family connection as been displayed through family reunions, church events, birthday celebrations, holiday gatherings, family trips, loyalty and many more! So which brings me to why I choose Chapter 8, it's based on on the importance of having close friendships with family members; rather for good times, bad times or just to keep in touch they're paramount.
The material included in this posting relates a lot to the topics I've found interest in. Concepts including Same-Sex Households, Family Disorganization and Divorce and the Functions of the Family in Society, bring up a lot of good points and tend to hit "the nail on the head". Whether it's Importance of Family, Same-Sex Marriages/Couples or Marriages/Divorces, it's necessary to mention and discuss these subjects. With all the issues being talked about multiple times a day in the news, it's very important to be educated because this may ultimately involve you one day. I feel it goes unsaid more too many times, on the importance, that family plays in one's life, growth & production.

"Why People Get a Divorce"
Same-Sex Marriages/Homosexuality as stated in our textbook "still isn't the norm, a more open attitude toward this orientation, whether men or women, is becoming increasingly common". This statement really stood out to me and was the reasoning behind me choosing the article.
“You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.”
